Student leadership at CWPS
Student leadership helps young people find their voices, participate in decision-making, and understand their rights and responsibilities as active citizens. It helps students have a real impact on their learning and school environment and prepares them to participate meaningfully in their community.
Students can be leaders in the classroom, through their actions in the playground, through their support for others, or their involvement in academic, sporting, cultural or local community events or projects.

The Anxiety Project (TAP)
Our school is undertaking a project to address low level student anxiety called The Anxiety Project, or TAP for short. We plan to tap the potential of our kids by giving them a tool kit of strategies to turn on when they need them. A key element of TAP is encouraging students to be braver and ‘have a go’! We can help them do this through coaching conversations and by giving them the language they need to succeed.
All teachers, support staff and the office have commenced training designed by expert psychologist Michael Hawton to understand coaching techniques known as ‘serve and return’ conversation. The book, The Anxiety Coach is our guiding text and comes highly recommended to our parent community.
